Total mixed ration (TMR) is a method of feeding ruminants.

The purpose of feeding a TMR diet is that each animal can consume the required level of nutrients in each bite.

A ruminant's ration should include fiber, a balance of grains and proteins, vitamins and minerals.

By using a TMR diet, you are able to manage daily requirements to provide healthy ruminants, increases in milk production and reproduction.

The key to formulating TMR is maximizing dry matter intake and preventing dehydration by adding 30-40% water to the mix before feeding.
